Jesse runs a multinational photography company out of Toronto, Canada. He describes their business focus as “journeyed landscape photography”.
“Our whole theme is defining the cultural aesthetic of an area,” explains Jesse. “Whether that be in the design of the clothing in a certain region, or an event that captures the heart and soul of the community. We like to work with grassroots organizations and small businesses with a strong identity.”
With a team of 12 working at events across the continent, invoicing used to be a challenge for TO2Rio. Particularly so given the team’s focus on providing customers with accountability, transparency and responsiveness in every aspect of the business.

Before they switched to Invoice Simple, the team was using a desktop spreadsheet to invoice clients 2-3 days after an event. But when one client invoice couldn’t be delivered on time, Jesse and his team had to find a new solution fast.
“One of our employees was on the road and they rang to say that they couldn’t get to a workstation in time to send an invoice. The client wanted the invoice that day. It was a long weekend so there was no-one at the office who could help either. I got a call from that same employee an hour later saying that they’d made the invoice. They’d used Invoice Simple.”
When Jesse received a copy of the new invoice, he was impressed with the design, layout, and the level of detail it supported.
“I was like ‘This is perfect. We can use it on the road and everybody can download it.’”
But making invoicing available on the go wasn’t the only thing that TO2Rio needed from an invoicing solution. Maintaining a professional look and staying on-brand was essential.
“With Invoice Simple, we were able to align our invoices with our brand. We could add a crystal clear image of our logo on the invoice so it truly looked like us. The invoices are completely white-labelled too, with no Invoice Simple watermark, so that was another key selling point for us.”
Before making the switch to Invoice Simple, the TO2Rio team researched other invoicing apps and made sure the whole team was on board with the change.
“There are other invoicing applications out there but we just didn’t feel the same connectivity to them that we did with Invoice Simple. Other invoicing apps didn’t offer the same fluidity and transparency. Invoice Simple allowed us to maintain a high level of professionalism and get our invoicing done on location, on time. It was a no-brainer to keep using it.”
The whole TO2Rio team now uses Invoice Simple to send invoices immediately after finishing an event. It helps their clients to move forward with their accounting straight away and it helps Jesse and his team to get visibility into what’s been delivered.

With referrals from happy clients pouring in, Jesse is now focused on growing the business and finding a new permanent headquarters in Toronto. One thing he doesn’t have to worry about is his invoicing.
“As a small business in 2017, you’ve really got to be on it. There are other businesses operating in real-time so we need to do the same. Invoice Simple helps us to deliver right on time.”
